Event Recycling
Eureka Recycling coordinates recycling and composting services for selected community events in order to demonstrate its mission that waste is preventable, not inevitable. By planning ahead, organizers can make large events nearly waste-free. Our staff helps vendors make simple choices to avoid materials that cannot be recycled or composted, and we staff recycling and composting stations on the day of the event to make sure that participants think before they throw.
Saint Paul Bike Classic: 97 Percent of Trash Diverted
At the Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour, Eureka Recycling staffed recycling and composting stations at all stops along the route. Instead of throwing items in trash cans, event participants separated their discards with the help of Eureka Recycling staff, sending containers and some paper to a recycler and food scraps and nonrecyclable paper to a commercial composter. As a result, 97 percent of discards were diverted from the trash.
Living Green Expo
Eureka Recycling has helped the Living Green Expo live up to its committment to sustainable living for five years. The Expo features information, demonstrations and products related to earth-friendly living. Eureka Recycling works with vendors to help them avoid materials than cannot be recycled or composted and staffs recycling and composting stations during the event. Find out more about the efforts to make Living Green Expo a "green" event, including a waste-free one!
