Every spring and fall, Eureka Recycling coordinates a buying cooperative that allows individuals, businesses, and organizations in the Twin Cities area to purchase recycled paper at a reduced cost. By combining smaller orders, we get a bulk discount from the supplier and pass the savings on to you. Buying through our co-op is the easiest and most affordable way for you to purchase environmentally friendly copy paper for your office.

About the Paper

We offer the best quality, highest post-consumer content available—which for most of our paper is 100% postconsumer recycled content. The white letter is 20# weight, 92 brightness and is always process chlorine-free.

100% Postconsumer Recycled Content
Paper made from 100% postconsumer waste is produced entirely from paper that comes directly out of someone’s recycling bin. Using postconsumer recycled paper helps eliminate the need for harvesting more virgin materials, and closes the recycling loop by creating a demand for the paper we recycle.

Process Chlorine-Free
All the paper we offer is process chlorine-free (PCF) from start to finish. Whitening paper without the use of chlorine or chlorine compounds eliminates the discharge of dioxin, a potent cancer-causing gas, as well as other pollutants that contaminate water.

High Quality
We realize that some people have concerns about the performance of recycled paper in copiers and printers, and we want you to know that postconsumer recycled content paper performs as well as virgin paper. In fact, Eureka Recycling and our co-op partners have purchased and successfully used over 22 million sheets of 100% postconsumer recycled paper in the last five years!

Colored Paper and Cardstock
It is our commitment to offer paper products with the highest postconsumer content available on the market for each co-op season. This year, our white paper stock will continue to be 100% postconsumer recycled content. However, our research has shown that there are no paper manufacturers currently producing colored papers with 100% postconsumer content. In fact 30% is the highest postconsumer content we can find to offer this year.

Continuing to buy paper with the highest postconsumer content available shows manufacturers that "closing the loop" through paper recycling is important to you as a consumer because it benefits our communities and the environment. Participating in the Recycled Paper Co-op shows your commitment to these values and helps illustrate the continued demand for higher postconsumer content. Thank you!

We also offer high quality white 80 lb. cardstock with 100% postconsumer recycled content, and white 80 lb. report paper with 50% postconsumer recycled content. The report paper and cardstock are suitable for color copies and high quality reports. The 80 lb. cardstock meets the U.S. Postal Service's thickness standards for postcards. We also offer 65 lb. cardstock made with 50% postconsumer recycled content.

All paper is priced and sold by the carton. The minimum order is one carton.
Each carton contain 10 reams with 500 sheets per ream (unless otherwise noted below).

Ordering Instructions for Recycled Paper

How the Recycled Paper Co-op works:

Twice a year - usually in March and in October - we open the buying cooperative for orders of copy paper for businesses, organizations and individuals in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro area. About six weeks later, the paper is available for pickup or delivery (free if you order 20 cartons or more, $20 if you order less than 20 cartons).

Pick-up for the Spring 2013 co-op will be in mid-May at our facility in northeast Minneapolis. (Delivery will also be in mid-May.) We are able to keep our prices low because we offer one pick-up day. If you ordered in the Spring 2013 co-op, look for an e-mail soon with the pickup day information!

Looking for Compostable Products?

While reusable cups, plates and cutlery are certainly the best choice for the environment, people are also looking to purchase compostable products to replace disposable plastic.

For several years, Eureka Recycling offered compostable serviceware, cups, and plates as part of our purchasing cooperative. However, we do not provide cooperative purchasing of compostable products at this time.

Over time we’ve learned a lot about the issues and challenges associated with the use of compostable products and can help you with your compostable purchases.
